Desmond Tutu's daughter, Nontombi Naomi Tutu, spoke Tuesday about what she's proudest of from her father's life, describing a moment in July of 1985 in which Tutu saved a defenceless man who was being beaten by angry young mourners at a funeral.

The man had been accused of being an apartheid collaborator and was on the verge of being set on fire by the mob, but the intervention by Tutu and other clergy members saved him.

"There was so many striking things about it," she said. "One was that he has the courage to go into the crowd and say, 'no, this is, this is not how we do it.' But the other in that those young people listened."

She also said that she would miss knowing that her father's home was a "place to be hugged," because Tutu was known as a "hugger."

Tutu died on Sunday at the age of 90.
