Des Ki Baat: Brewing Tension Over The Death Of Villagers In Nagaland

Des Ki Baat - December 5, 2021: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Monday issued notices to the Centre and the Nagaland government over reports of killing of civilians during an alleged "botched up operation" by the Army Para Commandos to target terrorists, officials said. It triggered several incidents of arson, rioting and attack on soldiers and Assam Rifles camp, resulting in more injuries and deaths, including that of one soldier, the rights panel said in a statement. In response to the killings, Home Minister Amit Shah told parliament that the Centre regrets the death of the 14 civilians. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) would inquire into the incident and give its report in one month, he said. (Audio In Hindi)
