Christmas this year has come amid grief in Nagaland’s Oting village in the Mon District. The village is mourning the death of 12 people from the village who were killed in a botched operation of the Indian Army on December 4. The villagers along with the victims’ families organised a midnight special prayer at the mass grave, carrying placards demanding justice, condemning the controversial law AFSPA and denouncing the Army. Verses from the Bible were read and the villagers sang together in grief.
