Cyclone Mocha made landfall on the western coast of Myanmar, forcing the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of people to safer locations, as it tore roofs off buildings and killed at least three people.

Storm surges whipped up by the powerful cyclone moving inland from the Bay of Bengal inundated the Myanmar port city of Sittwe on Saturday but largely spared a densely-populated cluster of Rohingya refugee camps in neighbouring Bangladesh.
