The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) warned on Tuesday of a deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Gaza with conditions among the worst the organization had ever seen.

Brian Lander, the deputy head of emergencies at WFP said people in the enclave were in desperate need of water, food and all the primary needs for survival.

Some people were living on just one litre of water a day, others were reduced to boiling seawater while organizations like the WFP were unable to reach 1.1 million in desperate need of food, he added.

Meanwhile, Gaza's Indonesian hospital in Beit Lahia, is facing a shortage of the fuel necessary for operations, with its director warning their reserves are about to run out. Atef Al-Kahlout, has appealed to the world and humanitarian organizations to provide fuel to the northern Gaza Strip.
