Fighting ‘threatens survival’ of 1.5 million people trapped in Gaza

Israel has intensified its bombardment of the besieged Gaza Strip as civilian death toll mounts.
At least 20 people have been killed in Gaza city.
UN says heavy fighting has “encircled” two hospitals in Khan Younis – Nasser and Al-Amal – leaving thousands of “terrified staff, patients and displaced people trapped inside”.
Gaza’s health ministry says at least 25,700 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since October 7.
