Covid-19 News: India's Omicron Cases Rise To 129

India's Omicron tally increased to 129 on Sunday with Kerala reporting four new cases of the new variant. Eleven states across India have reported cases of the new variant and Maharashtra tops the list with 48 cases. The Centre has warned it is likely that Omicron's spread will outpace the Delta variant where there is community transmission. It has advised people to avoid non-essential travel and mass gatherings, and keep New Year celebrations at low-key.
