The Health Ministry and the ICMR recently warned about complacency, saying that images of crowded hill stations was frightening. Soaring temperatures and the easing of lockdown curbs have tempted tourists to flock to hill stations. Health officials recently described it as revenge tourism, warning that the gains made in containing the second wave could be negated if people threw caution to the wind.
