The more transmissible Omicron variant is driving up Canada's COVID-19 cases, fuelling fears the health-care system will again be pushed to the brink.

So what does that mean for the country's front line health workers, who are already stressed?

The COVID-fatigued and burnout front-liners are mustering every last piece of energy they have to fight their most formidable foe yet, even if the variant is posing new challenges for hospitals.
