Backlash is mounting in Quebec and Ontario, where COVID-19 vaccine mandates for health-care workers have been ditched. The two provinces believe the rules could result in drastic labour shortages that will hurt their health systems and jeopardize the delivery of care.

So far, six provinces require mandatory vaccines for health-care workers now, or very soon. Four provinces require tests, but not necessarily vaccines for health workers. But would health-care systems really be at risk? Eric Sorensen has a reality check.
