For most Hungarians, Peter Magyar was an unknown figure in Hungary until a few months ago, when he burst into the public eye. In February, a paedophile pardon scandal rocked Hungarian politics, leading to the resignation of Hungary’s former President, Katalin Novàk and of Magyar’s ex-wife, former Justice Minister Judit Varga.
