Asked whether Canada could send tanks to Ukraine, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland said Tuesday that after speaking with Defence Minister Anita Anand and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, "everything is on the table when it comes to supporting Ukraine."

The Canadian Forces has roughly 112 Leopard 2s in several configurations, and the tanks were acquired from Germany in 2007 during the height of the war in Afghanistan.

The Pentagon is not saying whether it’s aware of any decision by allied governments to give battle tanks to Ukraine amid reports suggesting German and American officials have decided to donate tanks to Kyiv.

The Associated Press is reporting that Joe Biden’s administration is poised to approve sending M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine, citing an unnamed official.
