Costa Ricans head to polls in presidential election runoff

Costa Ricans are heading to the polls on Sunday.
But the leadup to the presidential election has been mired in widespread apathy, with no clear frontrunner to lead the country for the next four years.
Jose María Figueres, a 67-year-old centre-right ex-president was the winner of the first round.
But his rival, 60-year-old career economist and political newcomer Rodrigo Chaves, has overtaken him in recent polls.
Both candidates are surrounded by controversy - Figueres faced accusations of corruption while in office and Chaves was accused of sexual harassment while working at the World Bank.
Both candidates deny the allegations.
Many voters think the candidates on offer are the worst choice they could have and the hope is that whoever wins will be able to bring back economic growth.
