Coronavirus Vaccine: The Serum Institute of India CEO, Adar Poonawalla, says they can start shipping out COVID-19 vaccines in a week once all formalities with the government are completed. He said 50 million doses of the vaccine will be available initially, and they expect to roll out 70-80 million vaccine doses in around one-and-a-half month. "There are only three vaccines in the world that have proven efficacy -- they are Pfizer, Moderna and Oxford-AstraZeneca. These are the only three vaccines which have been proven to work. Everything else has been proven to be safe, just like water. But the efficacy to know how well a vaccine works, 70 percent, 90 percent, 80 percent, has only been proven in these three vaccines," he said.
