With COVID-19 cases skyrocketing in Canada, concerns are rising over the spread of the illness among South Asian communities in British Columbia, Ontario, and across Canada.

The worries are only growing higher as many people gather for annual Diwali celebrations. Typically, Diwali involves large group gatherings at home or in banquet halls, fireworks displays and visits to the temple or Gurdwara for worship and to light candles and lanterns.

Officials have asked Canadians to observe the holiday of Diwali virtually in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 cases across the country. Mike Drolet reports.
