Homeless people are struggling more during the COVID-19 pandemic, including in Quebec. The homeless population in Montreal has been hit particularly hard, with several shelters forced to operate at a reduced capacity due to public health guidelines and COVID-19 outbreaks.

The recent death of 51-year-old Raphaël André, a homeless man in Montreal, is also highlighting the crisis facing homeless Canadians.
