Working women in Canada are facing a “pervasive motherhood penalty,” according to a new report.
The report — by advocacy group Maturn and consulting firm The Brand is Female — finds 70 per cent of Canadian working mothers don’t feel they are getting enough support from their employers.
Almost half of those surveyed said they were not satisfied with the support they received during maternity leave, while a third said they considered quitting their jobs.
Vanessa Wright has more on the reports findings and what advocates say employers can do about it.
