Welcome to Conversations with Goddard! ???? In this series of video shorts, we're expanding our decade-long profile series to hear stories from the people who keep our center thriving.

Melissa Gates came to NASA after managing her family's business and serving customers at MGM National Harbor. Today, she manages the needs of Goddard's Mission Systems Engineering Branch.

A self-proclaimed thrill-seeker and experienced traveler, Melissa also uses a cane and a scooter to get around. "I have had to make people comfortable with my disability," she said. She enjoys learning and sharing people's stories and experiences, both in her work as branch secretary and in her advocacy for fellow employees with disabilities.
