At least 23 people were killed and dozens of others were injured following a mudslide in Colombia on Saturday.
The mudslide was brought forth by heavy rains in the northwest region of Choco and engulfed a busy highway that connects Quibdo and Medellin.
Though temporarily halted due to adverse and unstable conditions, national and emergency services are actively working to recover any victims.
“[Corpses] will be recognized as their relatives reach the prosecutor's office in the city of Quibdo to recognize them through photos,” Choco’s governor Nubia Cordoba said in a statement.
