Christmas traffic: The best times to travel over the festive period

On the roads, the RAC estimates that 13.5 million journeys will take place in Britain this weekend, up 20 per cent on last year.

A combination of the weather, traffic snarl ups, and problems on the trains is making travelling challenging for people trying to get to loved ones for Christmas.
