China: Watch the moment a warship nearly hits US destroyer in the Taiwan Strait

The US and Canadian navies were conducting a joint exercise in the strait when a Chinese ship that was shadowing them cut in front of the US guided-missile destroyer.

The vessel had to slow down to avoid a collision, according to the US Navy.

China's military rebuked the United States for "deliberately provoking risk" in the region.

The incident occurred as tensions remain high in the disputed region.
