U.S. lawmakers are working to bring four American educators from Iowa's Cornell College home from China after they were injured in a stabbing attack in a public park in northeast China's Jilin province on Monday.

A Congresswoman briefed on the matter says at least two are hospitalized in critical condition as of Tuesday afternoon.

Chinese police preliminarily judged it as a random incident and investigations are ongoing, the Chinese foreign ministry said on Tuesday.
