A search and recovery operation is underway in China after a bridge collapsed during flash flooding in the western province of Shaanxi.

At least 12 people have died and dozens are missing after more than 20 cars fell from the highway bridge and into the river.

It raises questions over the quality of some of China's infrastructure projects, as this is the second bridge to collapse during the flooding season.
