Authorities in China say they will ease COVID-19 restrictions in the country's western region of Xinjiang.
Residents of the regional capital Urumqi have been angered following a blaze that killed 10 people in a residential building under lockdown due to China’s zero-COVID policy.
The lockdown, in place for more than 100 days, will be lifted in stages.
Demonstrators have been calling for an end to the shutdown.
