Chile pollution: Government plans to shutdown coal plants

A coal plant in northern Chile is due to start winding down as part of a government plan to phase-out coal production in the country. In the city of Mejillones, scores of residents are suffering from advanced stages of cancer due to the contamination from the plants. The coal industry brought prosperity to the port town, but also extreme levels of pollution.
