Caterpillar infestation causing concern in eastern Canada

A caterpillar infestation is taking hold in parts of eastern Canada, affecting trees across the area.

Known for having distinctive red and blue dots and covered in tiny hairs, gypsy moth caterpillars as part of a widespread outbreak have been chewing through trees and some shrubs across southern Ontario and now experts say there could once again be a record year for damage.

Ross Hull reports on why the insects are showing up in such large numbers and what can be done to prevent further damage.
