"The captain has to take responsibility, but it has more to do with the culture prevailing in the airlines. Why do pilots and crew don't report incidents? Statistics suggest that 70% of the crew in the US, when they report, no action is taken.....The company has not even apologised. It has just said that it regrets the incident," Captain Amit Singh, air safety expert, said when asked why the captain of the New York-Delhi Air India flight should not be held accountable.
