No Dogs Left Behind, a Toronto-based charity is working in Ukraine to rescue dogs from disease and danger in the war-torn nation, where countless pets are becoming lost or being abandoned.

This is the non-profit’s second project in Ukraine, after previously visiting this summer to feed and sterilize the pet population.

Mike Drolet reports on the mission the Ukrainian military is recognizing as essential work, and the man spearheading it.
