Hiva Alizadeh, who was caught recruiting for an Al Qaeda-linked terrorist cell in Ottawa, was sentenced in 2014 to 24 years in prison.

But now he's been granted day parole, after telling the Parole Board of Canada that he had abandoned terrorism and was ready to move on.
