Oscar “Blade Runner” Pistorius, the former Paralympian star, has been granted parole 10 years after shooting and killing his girlfriend — the late model Reeva Steenkamp.

Pistorius, now 37, has remained in a Pretoria jail in South Africa since late 2014 after being convicted of murder and sentenced to 13 years and five months in prison.

In South Africa, offenders must serve at least half of their sentence to become eligible for parole. After meeting that requirement, Pistorius was granted parole on Friday under certain conditions.

Until 2029, The seven-time Gold-winning medalist must not leave Pretoria — where he will live without permission from authorities — he must attend anger management rehabilitation sessions and carry out community services.

Initially, Pistorius was convicted of culpable homicide. He testified that the killing of Steenkamp was a mistake as he thought she was an intruder hiding in his bathroom — where she was shot dead.
