Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Gov. Gen. Mary Simon and the High Commissioner to the U.K. Ralph Goodale have been invited to Queen Elizabeth II's funeral on Sept. 19.
Goodale said there was a profound sense of history in the room as he and other representatives of Commonwealth countries met King Charles III for the first time since his accession to the throne.
"One era turning to another era. A dominant personality, much loved, in Queen Elizabeth is gone, a new King has taken over, so history is changing and being a part of that history was one of the emotions in the room," he told Global News.
Dawna Friesen spoke with Goodale about the impression he left the meeting with about Charles.
