Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw identified Cristian Cuxum as Canada's number one most wanted fugitive on Monday during an announcement at Yonge-Dundas Square. Cuxum shot and killed Edwin Farley Alvarado Quintero in October 2022 in North York, Ont., and is facing charges of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Other most-wanted fugitives were identified from across the country as well.

Bolo Director Max Langlois, and Toronto Crime Stoppers Chair Sean Sportun joined the announcement, which also included suspects wanted by the Calgary Police Service.

The Bolo program — which stands for “be on the lookout” — enlists the public's help in arresting Canada’s most wanted fugitives. The Bolo Program works with police forces across Canada and uses technology and social media to help spread the word about wanted fugitives.
