Canadian Members of Parliament participated in an emergency debate on Monday evening over the cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline.

During the debate, Canada’s Natural Resource Minister Seamus O'Regan rebuffed calls to issue sanctions on the United States over President Joe Biden‘s move to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline expansion.

Conservative Leader Erin O'Toole called for the debate Monday and has criticized Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over his reluctance, in O'Toole's opinion, to be more forceful regarding U.S. President Joe Biden's cancellation on the project.
