Canada is urging G7 nations to provide financial aid to Ukraine by using seized Russian assets.

Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland has been leading efforts to encourage G7 finance ministers to adopt the plan, which was discussed during the recent three-day G7 finance ministers' meeting in Italy.

G7 leaders, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, are expected to finalize plans to provide financial assistance to Ukraine during their upcoming meeting in Italy early next month.
