While campaigning in Vancouver, Liberal Party Leader Justin Trudeau vowed to make it illegal to block access to healthcare sites if his government is re-elected.

The new promise comes as rallies across Canada were held to protest vaccine passports and pandemic restrictions, with protesters gathering at hospitals and obstructing vital access. Abigail Bimman explains what facilities Trudeau's potential new law could apply to, and whether it's really necessary.

Meanwhile, despite claims of wanting to run a positive campaign, Conservative Party Leader Erin O'Toole focused on personal attacks over policy on Monday. While pledging more benefits for new parents, O'Toole also slammed Trudeau as "privileged, entitled, and always looking out for number one."

As Mike Le Couteur reports, strategists say the sudden mudslinging may be a sign of desperation, as the Conservatives try to garner some progressive votes as well.
