Liberal Party Leader Justin Trudeau condemned on Tuesday the actions of protesters who threw gravel at him at a campaign stop in London, Ont. a day prior. Trudeau confirmed he felt the gravel strike him.

Trudeau was leaving the event on Monday, when he was surrounded by angry protesters, some of whom appeared to be throwing handfuls of gravel and debris at the party leader. RCMP security detail were forced to hold up their hands to try and protect Trudeau from getting hit as he got on his campaign bus. Some members of the media following the Liberal campaign were hit by the small projectiles, but were not hurt.

The Liberal leader went on to further condemn other forms of widespread harassment, such as anti-vaccination demonstrators harassing health-care workers outside of hospitals as was the scene in parts of Canada last week.

Other federal party leaders condemned the incident as well. Conservative Party Leader Erin O’Toole and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh expressed their disapproval on Tuesday during their campaign events.
