U.S. federal health agencies on Tuesday recommended pausing the use of Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine for at least a few days after six women under age 50 developed rare blood clots after receiving the shot.
But over 6.6 million people in the U.S. have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine already, while Canada is yet to receive its shipments of the vaccine. Prime minister Justin Trudeau reassured people his government is “closely monitoring” the situation.
While the U.S. has plenty of vaccine supply for its entire population, the reports on AstraZeneca and J&J vaccines are causing worry and hesitancy at a time cases of COVID-19 are surging worldwide. Jackson Proskow reports.
