As Ukrainian refugees displaced by war make their way to Canada, with the country stepping up to help many of them.

But the federal government had already committed to bring in 40,000 Afghan refugees as the crisis in Afghanistan unfolded last summer.

Since the Taliban takeover of that country in August 2021, Canada has only managed to resettle 10,000 of those refugees.

Global’s David Akin explains the concerns Canada can't keep up with two refugee crises.
