There have been calls for tougher gun control laws after a primary school shooting in Texas.
A gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, killing 19 kids and two teachers. It is the worst mass school shooting in the United States in a decade.
Former President Barack Obama said that, while he grieved for the families, he was also angry for them because the gun rights lobby had stymied gun control measures after the Sandy Hook shooting during his term.
Senator from Texas Ted Cruz, however, disagreed, saying that gun control measures that curb Americans' constitutional rights are not effective, and that he was "lifting up in prayer" the children and families involved.
Al Jazeera's Alexi O'Brien reports.
