California authorities provide update of mass shooting near Lunar New Year festival | LIVE

Officials are expected to give an update on Sunday about a mass shooting at an Los Angeles-area dance club that left 10 people dead and 10 others injured during a Lunar New Year celebration.

The shooting set off a manhunt for the suspect. It was the fifth mass killing in the U.S. this month.
Capt. Andrew Meyer of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department said early Sunday the wounded were taken to hospitals and their conditions range from stable to critical.

Meyer gave no description of the male suspect or the weapon he used, or why police gave no information on the shooting for hours while the shooter remained on the run. He said it was too early to know if the gunman knew anyone at the club or if it was a hate crime.
