Individuals whose provident fund contribution is Rs 2.5 lakh or more in a financial year, will not be able to seek tax exemption on the interest earned from the next financial year. The government should re-look at this proposal as savings rate in the economy is slowing, economist Brinda Jagirdar told NDTV.
