Britons have been asked to plant trees across the country to mark the Queen's Jubilee as part of an initiative called The Queen's Green Canopy.

Environmentalist and campaigner Tony Juniper said that the trees planted this weekend will "mark the golden thread of time" when the country celebrated Her Majesty's 70th year on the throne.
