Speaking at Brian Mulroney's state funeral on Saturday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau remembered the former prime minister's lasting legacy.

He spoke about Mulroney's role in standing against Apartheid in South Africa and his role in creating the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) – pivotal world events.

Trudeau also remarked on Mulroney's dedication to service, which he said the late prime minister valued over political power.

"He didn't just love Canada in the abstract sense; he loved Canadians," Trudeau said.
