Rishi Sunak has pledged to scrap the main rate of self-employed national insurance if the Conservative Party is elected to government.

The prime minister, who has suffered a faltering campaign launch, laid out his policies as part of the party's election manifesto launch.

He went on the offensive, comparing Labour's tax policies to the film Fight Club, reiterated his pension pledge and repeated his claim voters would pay £2,000 a year under Labour.
