Boris Johnson has waded into the row about transgender athletes competing in sporting events.

He also underlined his decision to not ban transgender conversion therapy while banning it for Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual people. Mr Johnson believes there's "complexities and sensitivities when you move from the area of sexuality to the question of gender".

It follows a decision by British Cycling to stop Emily Bridges competing in the sport's national championships because she was still registered as a man.

The Prime Minister also said women should be given dedicated females spaces in public areas.
