A Russian jet has been captured on video conducting a low pass near the United States Navy's guided-missile destroyer in the Black Sea.

The USS Donald Cook was deployed in the Black Sea at the end of last month as part of a NATO operation.

The Sixth Fleet shared footage of the Russian Sukhoi Su-24 frontline bomber on Twitter as it flew past earlier today.

It wrote: ‘The U.S. Navy routinely operates in the Black Sea to reassure Nato Allies & partners and ensure security and stability in the region. Today, USS Donald Cook operating in international waters in the Black Sea while a Russian SU-24 does a low pass nearby.’
