Flanked by two Easter bunnies, U.S. President Joe Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, welcomed thousands of people to the White House on Monday for the annual Easter Egg Roll.
As he looked out at the crowd from the balcony of the White House, Biden said he was reminded that America “is a country made up of possibilities.”
“Anything is possible in America if we remember who we are and we do it together,” he said.
The White House Easter Egg Roll is a tradition started by president Rutherford B. Hayes in 1878.
Participants were selected by lottery to attend the event, where children roll coloured eggs using long-handled spoons. The theme of this year’s event was “egg-ucation.”
