U.S. President Joe Biden on Thursday said U.S. intelligence agencies don't believe Russia was responsible for a cyberattack that forced the shutdown of Colonial Pipeline, but said it appears the hackers were located in Russia.
Colonial Pipeline, the biggest fuel pipeline in the U.S., which delivers about 45 per cent of the fuel consumed in the U.S. east Coast, was hit on Friday by hackers who locked up computer systems and demanded a ransom to release them
On Thursday, Biden urged Americans against panic-buyin as gas shortages were reported in cities across the U.S. Southeast in the wake of the cyberattack.
