United States President Joe Biden has formally announced his decision to pull all troops out of Afghanistan by September 11.
He said that the US had accomplished its goal of making sure that Afghanistan could not be a base for planning attacks again, as it was on September 11, 2001.
The troop withdrawal will start on May 1.
Republicans and some members of Biden's party have warned that the president's decision could compromise regional security.
