Beijing is ramping up checks for all inbound travellers to China ahead of the Winter Olympic Games, which kick off on February 4.
Officials are concerned an outbreak of Covid-19 in the port city of Tianjin, could spread to the capital.
Health workers have increased testing in the port city, less than an hour by train from Beijing as part of the country's "zero-tolerance" strategy against the virus.
